Mayor integración europea para disuadir los separatismos/independentismos
Creo que es urgente crear un sentimiento europeo, a través de los medios de comunicación y de la educación. Quizás ese sea el camino para evitar los diferentes nacionalismos/independentismos que hay dentro de los países de la UE. Hay regiones que no quieren seguir dentro de su propio país, pero sí quieren ser europeos...🤷♂️

Unterstütze ich vollständig. Nur über Bildung kann Nationalismen wirksam entgegen getreten werden. Chauvinismus und Nationalismus haben oft zu Kriegen und anderen, unnötigen Auseinandersetzungen geführt. Wenn wir uns mehr als Europäer mit unterschiedlichen Kulturen, Sprachen, Geschichten etc. sähen, wäre das die beste Voraussetzung für ein friedliches und Frieden stiftendes Europa

Non , Á votre proposition , çar s'est souvent les region riche qui souhaitént leur indépendance de leur nation d'appartenance ... Certain ons fait le calcule que sans les region pauvre , îls aurai plus d'intérêt à être indépendant ...
Ensuite , certain pays sont les fruits de construction territoriale qui se sont passer dàns dès bain de sangs , îls y a bien longtemps ... Donc l'indépendance n'a plus de raisons d'être , sauf pour quelque profiteur qui souhaitént prendre le pouvoir au détriment des autres ...
Personnellement , je suis opposer au develloppement dès langue regionale , çela est un moyen de remettre én cause la constitution des états ... ( La langue de la république s'est le francais , elle est les fruits de la révolution pour ne plus vivre les massacre des vendéens ) . Ensuite , si certain souhaitént leur indépendance , ils ne peuvent resté dans l'union ... Si l'on quittent un systeme unioniste , se n'est pas pour rester dans un plus grand .
I do not follow your logic regarding the richer regions seeking independence from the rest of the nation, as is the case e.g. in the Basque Country and Catalonia. Economists will tell you that the common market has sharpened inequality between countries and regions, and that the common currency (the euro) has further increased this economic gap in the absence of common fiscal, banking, health and social policies, etc. This is basic economic theory. Comparing the EU (euro) to the USA (dollar), Joseph Stiglitz wrote that the euro would destroy the EU unless some form of redistribution is achieved, as in the USA, to mitigate inequality between the states. Further integration would encourage solidarity between the EU regions and countries, rich and poor. This would help to dissuade secessionist movements, but also to consolidate the European project by fostering a sense of European citizenship and belonging, which is why I endorse the proposal.
They would still ask for independence within a Federal Union, it would not change anything. I think it's best a two states solution for those regions.
What escapes me is why I should want, say, Catalonia not to be a sovereign country. Self-determination is still a value to me, and even though I am no nationalist I don't want to endorse oppression, either. I have to confess that, dwelling a little further on the Catalan example, I find the way Spain treated the Catalan politicians in 2019 much more scary than a people asserting their own identity. But then again, reading most interventions in this forum, I feel quite depressed and confused, because I see that I belong to a minority who still values freedom over safety, security, law & order and the financial success of the Union. I guess I am an old, 20th-century man in the body of a 39 year old. But I hate the idea that my daughters will live in a world in which conforming and obeying are the values of the overwhelming majority of their peers.
I am afraid it is a two-way road - or a cobweb junction.
Slovenia and Croatia left Yugoslavia, but joined the EU.
Kosovo departed Serbia, but did not join Albania or the EU.
Czechoslovakia was split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and both joined the EU.
Germany was united, but Cyprus remains divided.
What do we want? The EU should have rules and procedures for both or all options.

The United Kingdom seems rather disunited, with Scotland voting for independence and wanting to remain in the EU. Who knows about Northern Ireland?
And what about other regions?
Flanders and Wallonia?
What is the EU’s position? What do different member states think? How about the people?
