Event reportThe event started with Mr. Boeselager sharing his personal journey, from his studies, to internships and now to the European Parliament. He referred in more detail to the individual committees in which he has participated as well as to his vision for each of the issues with which they dealt. Afterwards, Mr. Boeselager received questions from the EU Youth Hub members to which he responded willingly. In the context of his answers, he highlighted interesting aspects of very topical and critical issues. On the occasion of the latest news concerning the Covid – 19 pandemic, he discussed with the participants the possible obligation of vaccinations and whether or not it contradicts EU principles. Apart from that, participants were given the opportunity to be informed about the huge potential of Artificial Intelligence and its possible applications in areas such as green transition, cyber security, terrorism, and big data. Mr. Boeselager also referred to the debate over whether AI can be a threat to the protection of our personal data and how we can effectively address this challenge. Finally, Mr. Boeselager shared his views on the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, on which the EU Youth Hub had a special event last month, and whether it promotes and better understands the solidarity principle. The event concluded with Mr Boeselager urging all participants to take active part in politics and not hesitate to claim a better future for the Europe they envision.
