Event report

Europe Day ewes on 7 took the form of a webinar. The event focused on promoting inclusion and well-being. The event was organised by Savonlinna, Asukasloikka, funded by the European Social Fund, which promotes citizen-driven development. The event was attended by an open invitation to persons working for inclusion in the province of South Savo. The webinar was carried out in Teams and the work platform was Howspace, where various themes were discussed. The themes of the debate were: —Value I, groups in need of support – I'm a story, as a experience of an Inclusion Service client – Inclusion work in municipalities, inclusion programmes in results – Stadi pilots in Helsinki, lectures to help urban people find the right channels of engagement. They promote residents as negotiators, facilitators and mediators. A total of some forty participants participated in the event. In addition, the event and materials were freely available two weeks after the event. 75 % of the participants were women and the rest were male. The age distribution was about 25-60 years. Speaking about the stories of Asukasloika’s customer and the backgrounds involved. Researchers with disabilities and inclusion introduced the link between disadvantage and inclusion and the importance of inclusion. Practical examples of piloting activities carried out by the City of Helsinki and how it has reinforced the flow of residents and the administration were also heard. The Howspace platform provided a wealth of ideas to improve the inclusion of residents. Timely and accessible assistance and support through project activities for those in the middle and disadvantaged. — easy access to help for those who do not know themselves to seek help. There is a need to pay attention to self-languageism and to approach people in their own places of work. —It is strongly involved in events organised by others (e.g. at the village festival) and reach people better than the events organised by the city itself. —there was a very positive climate after the event to improve the attitude towards civic participation. Participants felt they had a lot of ideas and ideas that could be implemented in their own work. The speakers were successfully selected and the debate was very open. The questions raised were answered quickly and comprehensively.
