Debate: Should the EU be able to throw Member States out?
In Hungary, Viktor Orbán has introduced an anti-LGBT law, in Poland judges are personally persecuted by the government and in Slovenia attacks Prime Minister Janez Janša named critical journalists. What is the EU already doing to contain the trend? What more can the EU do? Can countries that do not respect the EU’s values of the rule of law, democracy and human rights be thrown out — and if so, what will the consequence be? What do you mean? Come and debate the EU’s opportunities for countries that do not respect common values with Central Europe expert Vibe Termansen. After the meeting, we put your proposals on the EU portal so that all citizens can see them — including EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Online discussion meeting on Thursday 25 November 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The meeting is organised in cooperation with House No. 7 and is supported by the European Union.
