Event report
*First of all, a reminder of a principle existing in 1957 with the Treaty of Rome: ‘equal pay and work of equal value’ and Article 157 thereof, which provides for equal pay for men and women for equal work or work of equal value. The women present regret that this is still not the case today and call on the European Union to respect its own values. *To make the right to abortion a fundamental principle at European level and that gender equality issues and women’s rights are also a European competence. *Linking respect for women’s rights and more broadly human rights to economic sanctions against states if shortcomings are identified. *Support particularly exemplary European projects in terms of women’s rights and that these rights be taken into account as a criterion for the selection of projects to be financed. *Creation of a European prevention campaign to combat inequalities from the earliest age, to pay particular attention to the rights of girls, fight against stereotypes... *Have specific EU funds for women’s rights, while keeping equality as a criterion in all EU funds.Share:
