Event report available
The Centre Europe Direct Toulouse Occitanie and the RESO association are organising a seminar on the theme of the Inclusive School for managers and actors in the field of Handicap on 9 December. The European Strategy for People with Disabilities, cooperation and best practices will be at the heart of this seminar. It will conclude with a Consultation on the Future of Europe to gather the views of the participants.

Event report
The consultation reveals that only half of the workers and stakeholders in the disability community are aware of the European strategy for inclusion. On the state of knowledge, we note that almost none of the respondents know about the Green Passport initiative. We still note that information reaches citizens, even those specialised in a field, badly. When asked whether the EU is acting sufficiently the answers are rather negative. Lack of communication and administrative delays are criticised. Two interviewees found that the EU was acting sufficiently and two acknowledged that they did not know. Several open questions provide an opportunity to propose ideas. The first is to reduce the gap between disabled young graduates and the rest of (higher) young graduates: — Add trained staff (AESH, AVS...). — Start inclusion from an early age. — Establish appropriate diplomas and training. — Reduce the importance of the diploma at the time of employment. The last proposal echoes the second open question on how to foster bridges between young graduates with disabilities and the general system. There are many ideas: — Changing mindsets — Developments in training — Working with recruiters — Better information about what exists... These proposals are interesting, especially since the public is directly concerned with the issue. We tried to identify priorities according to interviewees. Curriculum adaptation, teacher training and the creation of tools for teachers are evident. In the last priorities, the three are concerned with the establishment/adaptation of institutions. We assume that interviewees can see them as more difficult to set up and choose concrete things that affect trainers as priorities. Finally, the creation of specialised establishments is often mentioned last or not quoted at all, it is preferred to create innovative establishments (promoting a new form of inclusion).Related Ideas
