Reporting of Migration in the Cinema Samsø 28 January 2022- Organiser Samsø Music Association — Different statements and observations made at the discussion meeting on 28 January in Biografen on Samsø. Niels Boel opened the debate by providing a wide range of considerations and factual information on migration in different parts of the world. The film shown by Niels Boel is not intended as a political intervention in the discussion, but must provide a counterpole and a starting point for the debate on migration. The following statements were made: To come to Denmark and be in Denmark, you must be able to speak the language. Provide African countries with a sort of Marshall aid — it can be a good help to develop societies in Africa and reduce migration. The EU must ensure that in developing countries, contraceptive measures are made available in order to limit population growth. Governments need to work to limit smugglers as much as possible from working. Refugees must be helped in the immediate vicinity. It must be easier to obtain Danish citizenship. Proposal to abolish the EU! — What can the EU do? The EU must be better at creating cooperation between Member States in order to receive migrants in an orderly manner. Samsø can accept 50 migrants. The Member States of the European Union need to resolve the lack of camps. Migrants must be willing to be integrated. One talked about the fact that the Merchant Fleet always picks up migrants who are heading away from their homeland and elsewhere in the global world. Niels Boel, documentary director, was good at gathering views and stimulating the debate on Samsø.Related Ideas
