Event report
On December 15, 2021, a panel discussion on “Interfaith Dialogue, Persecuted Christians” was held in New York, and was opened by Dr. Ferenc Dancs, Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. Fernand de Varennes, UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Affairs, and representatives of the UN Office for the Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect, the Holy See, the Sovereign Order of Malta, and the Aid to the Church in Need were also present at the event. The discussion provided an overview of the situation of Christian minorities, programmes and best practices to help them, and future challenges. On the Hungarian side, we presented the Hungary Helps Agency, its key focus areas, and the connections between migration and development aid.
