Event report available
In the past two years, immunology and Virusology have become the center of attention of society. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged scientists, politicians and society and has shaken our understanding of viruses so far and the way we interact with each other. As part of the Open Doors Day of EU projects, through a series of short on-line lectures we will present some of the activities of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Viral Immunology and Vaccines and we will try to provide answers to some questions related to: the development of antibodies and new tests for COVID-19, — how the health system (KBC Rijeka) has successfully implemented testing protocols during the pandemic — how experimental vaccines are being developed, — whether viruses can affect reproductive organs, and — How therapeutic antibodies are developed and what they all serve
