As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, regular patient organisation gatherings have ceased for decades, so traditional patient education is no longer sustainable. The CEOSZ, together with all its member organisations, tries to provide regular support to people living with diabets in this changed environment, who need help, care and support more than ever. To this end, every Tuesday from 5.00 p.m. we work with excellent professionals to help treat diabetes and avoid various emergencies. After the screening of the pre-recorded performances, the current performer will also be connected live, so that participants can ask questions directly. In order to alleviate the sedentary lifestyle caused by lockdown, after the lectures and the consultation they can take part in 40 minutes of yoga with the online guidance of qualified trainers. The theme selection of educational videos is categorised according to three basic criteria: 1. The feasibility of different stages of treatment (insulin injection, blood glucose measurement, hypo/hyperglycaemia, nutrition, exercise) by the patient is transparent and comprehensible for patients. 2. Many situations, diseases and conditions (allergy, weather fronts, viral infection, etc.) affect the current condition of diabetes, which can cause significant difficulties in the daily life of patients. In these short films, the most common such situations are presented. 3. Short films presenting complications The quality of life of diabetics is determined by complications. Diabetic complications develop gradually but irreversibly, which patients should be informed in a timely manner and need to obtain up-to-date and reliable information about them. The films cover the process of developing complications, their consequences and lifestyle and other therapies to prevent them (within the limits of communication permitted by law). Most of the presentations are also published in writing in the Diabetes Package Leaflet in order to reach the widest possible range of patients. The current topic will be announced on facebook with a separate announcer, so that everyone interested in the topic has the opportunity to join, and the zoom link will be sent to all subscribers on the day before the broadcast. In view of the growing interest, the continuation of the educational series is planned until 31 December 2022.
