#TheFutureIsYours Prescribing a healthier future for Europeans
A Drop HealthFest
World Diabetes Day is a week-long event organised by a Drop Attention Foundation. Diabetes is at the heart of the webinars and Health Day presentations in Hungary and the European Union, covering the novelties of healing, the tasks involved in the reception of diabetic children and the psychological aspects of the disease. On our Health Day, we will also discuss the results of the latest Eurostat survey on obesity in one of our presentations.
Magyarország, 1024 Budapest, Kis Rókus u. 16-20.
Event reportA Drop Health Festival on Dibetes and Healthy Lifestyle was organised between 8 and 14 November by the One Drop Attention Foundation with screening days, Sunday with the One Drop Health Day and online webinars. Our experts were present at MOM Park Shopping Center in Budapest for 5 afternoons with free screening tests. In the media and screenings, we focused on Eurostat’s survey, which shows that after Malta, Croatia and the Czech Republic the largest number of overweight people live in Hungary, and this condition can also lead to diabetes, hypertension and cancer. In our screenings — blood glucose measurement, blood pressure measurement, blood oxygen measurement and nutrition/overweight measurement — a total of 1,200 screenings were carried out during the five afternoons. Some of the One Drop Health Test programs were available on the ZOOM platform: webinars and counselling took place on health, movement, soul and science. Hundreds of teachers took part in the webinars for them, where they talked about the development of diabetes treatment in Hungary and the European Union, highlighting the new insulin pumps that will make life easier for children with type 1 diabetes and young adults in the future. The webinar on dealing with the psychological difficulties of the disease raised the question of how mental problems work in the European Union. The question of where an EU diabetic diabetic patient can seek help when travelling within the EU has also been raised in the course of the diabetic educator’s advice. The closing event of the Health Festival was the One Drop Health Day (Nov.14.) Budapest — Millenáris), which was organised in compliance with the current COVID epidemiological standards. More than 10 types of free screening and advice were waiting for the visitors. The children were welcomed by game programs, the biggest success of the Budapest version of the Teddy Mac Hospital, established in Scandinavia, with the involvement of medics. The children also got acquainted with the sensitising comic of the Kids program of the International Diabetes Association, presenting a day of a diabetic boy. In the presentation for diabetic clubs, we discussed the results of the latest Eurostat survey on obesity and its dietetic aspects with the help of dietetic speakers. 780 participants attended the event.
