Impact of COVID-19 on brain disorders and mental health
The webinar on Covid and brain related issues is organized by BBC Belgium Brain Council. The webinar will be bilingual FR/NL with 3 channels (one FR, one NL and one without translation) interactive with Slido and moderated by Vanessa Constanzo. The webinar will be held on September 11th, from 15.00 to 17.00 and will consist of an introduction by Pr. Patrice Boyer, Psychiatrist, EBC vice-president, session 1, 2 and 3. Session 1 will regard the impact of COVID-19 on mental health in the general population, the impact in youths by Pr. Fabienne Glowacz (ULiège), Psychologist -Service de psychologie Clinique de la délinquance and the importance of the vagus nerve for biopsychosocial resilience by Dr. Marie-Anne Vanderhassel (UGent), Psychologist - Department of Head and Skin. An online debate plus Q/A will follow. Session 2 will concern patients and their testimony plus LUSS/VPP voice. Finally, session 3 will touch issues linked to long COVID-19 (Post-Acute Sequelaeod sars-Cov-2-PASC) as well as the neurobiological basis of covid-19-induced long-lasting neurological symptoms by Prof Paul Boon (UZGent), Neurologist – Department of Neurology and therapeutic perspectives for the “long-covid” syndrome by Pr. Paul Verbanck (ULB), Psychiatrist – Department of Psychiatry. A second online debate plus Q/A with Federal Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke will follow.
