More political participation and participation in the shaping of European policies — the EU institutions want to deliver on this promise with the Conference on the Future of Europe. By the summer of 2022, a pan-European series of events and forum debates will discuss challenges, priorities and new ideas for the future development and shape of the European Union. The Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin is participating in the Conference on the Future of Europe with a digital event at which students of the degree program Economics and Politics will present their impulses for the future of the Federation of States and will discuss this with experts from the European Parliament and the social partners. After input from MEP Gabriele Bischoff (SPD), Vice-President of the Constitutional Committee in the European Parliament, on the status and perspectives Conference on the Future of Europe, students from the Bachelor of Economics and Politics of the University of Technology and Economics (HTW) Berlin presented their ideas on the future of Europe, which were developed during the semester. This includes the idea of a European wind energy offensive with the participation of EU municipalities, to which reference is made here. On the podium, Expert:innen MEP Gabriele Bischoff, Dr. Dominika Biegon (German Trade Union Confederation) and Paul Maeser (Federal Confederation of German Industry) discussed the proposals among themselves and with the 75 Teilnehmer:innen of the online event moderated by Prof. Dr. Björn Hacker (HTW Berlin).
