In the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe, on 8 November at 17:00 in Salamanca, the citizens’ workshop "The vision of teachers: What and how would you like to teach in the school/institute?" moderated by Alfredo Hernando, Creator of the School Project21. The workshop is part of the event “Dialogue on the Future of Education”, part of the Dialogues on the Future, a joint initiative of the Government of Spain, the Representation of the European Commission in Spain and the European Parliament Office in Spain. Margaritis Schinas, Vice President of Promotion of our European Way of Life at the European Commission, will participate in the opening of the event on 8 November at 9:30. People interested in participating in the workshop in person will be able to do so by registering or logging into the platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe and subsequently clicking on “Join the Event” to register. Event report
The event was part of the Dialogues on the Future, a joint initiative of the Government of Spain, the Representation of the European Commission in Spain and the European Parliament Office in Spain. It consisted of a citizen workshop in hybrid format in which participants had the opportunity to present their proposals and interact with each other through their live interventions and comments on YouTube. 48 people participated in the event (27 people in person and 21 people online). 60 % were women. Participants included teachers, school teachers, and institutional representatives. These are some of the topics addressed during the Citizen Workshop: How would you like to teach to aspire to the educational success of all your students? What does it take for teachers, administrations and families to make it possible? What are the immediate actions by which we can begin to reach that scenario? In response, participants made the following proposals: 1- The European Union should advocate for more flexible curricula that provide greater autonomy for schools and encourage a reduction in the number of pupils per class; 2- Public administrations should promote a reduction in the number of pupils per class; 3- Public administrations should strengthen teaching teams, involve families and integrate emotional education into the educational curriculumRelated Ideas
