The EUNIC Film Festival focuses on the environment, both nature and urban. Through documentaries, filmmakers from all over Europe presented our changing world and solutions of how we can make our Planet a better place to live in. The 4 days long festival started with a joint opening reception on September 13 and on 16th September at 6 pm, Embassy of Hungary presented the movie "Plastic Cup: The Official Story of The Plastic Pirates" by the prize-winning nature film director and screenwriter Attila Dávid Molnár.
The event was opened by the Hungarian Ambassador, who called the attention on the water pollution, especially in the case of rivers crossing several countries.

September 13-16, 2021, the “Earthly Vision” environmental documentary film festival was organised in Oslo at SALT Art & Music Centre by the Norwegian cluster of EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture). As an active part of the cluster, the Embassy of Hungary joint to the festival and presented the film "PLASTIC CUP - the official story of the Plastic Pirates" by Attila Dávid Molnár prize-winning director. The 4 days long festival started with an opening reception, where the Embassy provided Hungarian tradition finger foods. Before the movie screening on 16 September, Ambassador of Hungary Eszter Sándorfi greeted the participants and drew attention to the Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and Summit. Embassy of Hungary in Oslo took part in the "EARTHLY VISION - A European Film Selection" environmental documentary festival organized by the Norwegian cluster of EUNIC. Through documentaries, filmmakers from all over Europe presented our changing world and solutions of how we can make our Planet a better place to live in. The 4 days event began with an opening reception on 13 September 2021, with the participation of the foreign missions and cultural institutions involved in the organization. At the reception, where our embassy provided Hungarian tradition finger foods to the participants. The reception and the screenings took place at SALT Art & Music Centre in central Oslo. On the closing day of the festival, Embassy of Hungary presented the documentary movie "PLASTIC CUP - the official story of the Plastic Pirates" by Attila Dávid Molnár prize-winning film director. The movie and initiative is about the huge amount of plastic bags and bottles, which is swept away by the flood of the river Tisza, flowing through Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Serbia. The litter-picking race on the river on boats made out of the plastic garbage answers to a complex regional issue in a cheerful way. Ambassador Eszter Sándorfi greeted the participants at the beginning of the screening, thanked the organizers arranging the event and by briefly introducing the Hungarian movie highlighted the problem of pollution of transboundary rivers, which does not receive the same focus as for instance CO2 emission. Mrs Sándorfi furthermore, draw attention to the Planet Budapest Sustainability Expo and Summit. The audience of the Hungarian movie consisted of mainly young people, which corresponds to the target audience of the “Earthly Vision” festival as a whole. Based on the feedback, the Hungarian film perfectly presents one of the most pressing problems of our time in the field of protecting our environment. The PET Cup encourages people to help, while they are having a good time. However, such a regional issue can only be solved through international cooperation. Participation in all screenings was free, however, the number of guests was limited to 50 due to the epidemic situation.Related Ideas
