Event report

The third day of the launch event of EUROPE DIRECT Gorj, the new mandate 2021-2025, took place on 6 October 2021. A day of plans, a day of confidence, with activities based on the slogan “The future is in your hands!”. The librarians from the public libraries in Gorj county got acquainted with the platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe and started refocusing activities towards two important directions for European communities at the moment: The European Green Deal and a Europe Prepared for the Digital Era. We will work together on the idea of “green libraries” and also train for a digital Europe so that we can advise community members who need to get acquainted with digital technology! Last but not least, we discussed the new strategy of the public library system in Gorj County for 2021-2027, which will take into account the priorities of the European Union. On departure, the librarians gladly received the materials offered by EURES, on the labour market and how to deal with preparing for a new job, materials that will be made available to the community.
