EPAS EUROPE DAY 2021 – United in Diversity
During the European Week, 7 European Parliament Ambassador Schools, which cooperate at EPAS EUROPE DAY 2021 – United in Diversity, an e-Twinning project, will hold an online event, due to commemorating Europe Day 2021.
The event, set on 7th May, at 11.30, presents a special opportunity to demonstrate a successful cooperation of 7 European Parliament Ambassador Schools from Austria (Bundesgymnasium Seekirchen, Seekirchen), Croatia (Gimnazija “Matija Mesić”, Slavonski Brod), Hungary (Alternativ Kozgazdasagi Gimnazium, Budapest), Latvia (Tukuma 2. vidusskola, Tukuma Novads), Lithuania (Klaipėdos Stasio Šimkaus Konservatorija, Klaipėda), Sweden (Uddevalla Gymnasieskola Agneberg, Uddevalla), and Portugal (Agrupamento de Escolas Vale D´Este- Viatodos- Barcelos, Barcelos).
During the project each school was represented by one or more mentors (senior ambassadors) and 10-30 students (junior ambassadors). The students were split into mixed groups and each group of students works together (over a mutual channel on Discord) and does research on the topic they chose (traditions, food & drinks, education, free time, stereotypes, sights & natural beauties, national symbols, history, future Europe - how youth perceive it?).
On 7th May the nine project’s working groups will present their work in form of digital posters, which will be featured in the final project video created by one of them. There will be a mutual virtual meeting for all the participants where the presentation of the video will be held, and all mentors will disseminate it in their schools and other relevant institutions interested in, like EDICs.
The participants will be honored with an introductory speech given by Ognian Zlatev, Head of Representation of European Commission in Croatia.
First part of the event will be a presentation of project and research results of 9 working groups, moderated by a teacher of English Language and History Marina Cvijić from Gymnasium “Matija Mesić”, Slavonski Brod, Croatia, coordinator and founder of the project.
A second one will be an interactive discussion about role and responsibilities of youth in building common future Europe lead by Iva Perić from Europe Direct Slavonski Brod.
Conclusions of the event will be sent to relevant national and European institutions. Also, the project’s video, including the working material, will be disseminated to media, social networks, schools involved, local communities and possibly on Twinspace and other European platforms, interested in promoting the project topic and its results.
