Event report
The event was part of the Dialogues on the Future, a joint initiative of the Government of Spain, the Representation of the European Commission in Spain and the European Parliament Office in Spain. It consisted of a citizen workshop in hybrid format in which participants had the opportunity to present their proposals and interact with each other through their live interventions, comments on YouTube and online surveys through the Mentimeter platform. 53 people participated in the event (32 people in person and 21 people online). 50 % were women. Participants included retirees, members of civil society organisations and public sector workers. These are some of the topics addressed during the Citizen Workshop: Do we have seniors projects? What do we need to do them? Would we like to decide when to retire? Where do we want to live as a grown-up? In response, participants made the following proposals: 1- The European Union should offer more opportunities for older people to make projects; 2- The European Union should promote both intergenerational and intra-generational relations; 3- The European Union must give people the opportunity to decide when to retire; 4- Public administrations should increase investment in nursing homes for the elderlyRelated Ideas
