Equality and Inclusion in a Post-Pandemic EU
As part of the debate on the Conference on the Future of Europe, Eurofound, in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Ireland and European Movement Ireland is organising a LIVE webinar on Equality and Inclusion in a Post-pandemic EU. As Europe embarks on its path to rebuild a greener, more digital and more resilient Europe, this webinar will look at how the EU and its Member States can tackle growing inequalities and what needs to happen, in the wake of the pandemic, to create a more inclusive, diverse and engaged society. This event will take place on Thursday, 21 October at 11.00am Irish Time. The speakers will be Massimiliano Mascherini, Eurofound’s Head of Social Policies, Ana Carla Pereira, Employment and Social Advisor to European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit and Dr. Shana Cohen, Director of TASC – Ireland’s Think Tank for Social Change. This event will be moderated by Maria Jepsen, Deputy Director Eurofound. Drawing on Eurofound’s recent EU-wide survey on Living, working and COVID-19, Massimiliano will share insights about how inequalities have increased during COVID-19 and how certain groups such as women, young people, people with disabilities and the situation of migrants have been particularly affected. Ana Carla will explore the role of the EU’s recovery plan in mitigating the economic and social impact of the pandemic. And Shana will focus on the specific challenges facing the most vulnerable groups and how leaders, civil society, social partners and policy makers must redouble their efforts as Europe emerges from the pandemic. The panellists will provide a brief introduction followed by a discussion and Q&A. Participants are invited to submit their questions by email to email@example.com The key points of discussion and the issues raised by participants during the webinar will be uploaded on the Conference on the Future of Europe’s digital platform after the event. Further information on how to join the webinar will be circulated to registered attendees the day before the event. #TheFutureIsYours #NextGenEU
