Event report
The event was part of the Dialogues on the Future, a joint initiative of the Government of Spain, the Representation of the European Commission in Spain and the European Parliament Office in Spain. It consisted of a citizen workshop in hybrid format in which participants had the opportunity to present their proposals and interact with each other through their live interventions. 47 people participated in the event (34 people face-to-face and 13 people online). 34 % were women and 55 % were entrepreneurs. These are some of the topics addressed during the Citizen Workshop: Should companies be dedicated only to creating value for their shareholders? How should companies’ engagement with society and the environment be improved: through regulation or consumer preferences? Do short-term sacrifices involve improving the quality of life in the future? In response, participants made the following proposals: 1- Adapt environmental legislation to the reality of small and medium-sized enterprises; 2- Creating incentives in the market to ensure that social and environmental responsibility is a comparative advantage for companies; 3- To inform companies that social and environmental responsibility is not a burden but an advantage.Related Ideas
