The Department of Economics of the University of Molise participates in the reflection on the themes of the “Conference on the Future of Europe” and in particular on the following topics: building a healthy continent, fighting climate change and environmental challenges, an economy serving people, social fairness, equality and its intergenerational age, European rights and values. Conference ON THE FUTURE OF EUROPE In order to participate in the debate on the topics of the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Department of Economics will organise a multidisciplinary conference on several days from 4 to 8 July 2022 involving students from the University, local authorities (regional, provincial and municipal, etc.) and civil society. The TITLE OF THE CONVENTION Quo vadis Europe? The challenges of the (and the) future of Europe WHEN: from 4 to 8 July 2022 The conference will be organised from 4 to 8 July 2022. What TIMES OF THE CONFERENCE ON THE FUTURE OF EUROPE WILL be discussed AND APPROFUNDED The topics that will be covered will be as follows: a) Climate change and environment b) Health c) A stronger economy, social justice and employment d) Values and rights, rule of law, security e) European democracy f) Migration g) Education, culture, youth and sport OBJECTIVE Objective is to stimulate reflection and foster a greater understanding among students, but also local institutions and civil society, of the current state of the European integration process. WHO WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE CONFERENCE: 1. Students will be involved in the day in the first place students. The conference will be organised within the Department of Economics. The day of reflection and discussion will involve all students enrolled in the degree programs of the Department, i.e.: Business Economics, Political and Administration Sciences, Social Service Sciences, Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, European Political Sciences and Institutions, Social Service and Social Policies. Students from all the Faculties of the University of Molise will also be invited. The same academic bodies will stimulate the participation of all students of the University. 2. (Continued): THE LOCAL AUTHORISATIONS At the day of reflection on the topics of the Conference on the Future of Europe, local authorities, i.e. the President of the Region and the members of the Regional Council, the Mayor of Campobasso and the members of the City Council will also be invited. Other local authorities (e.g. Representation of the Bank of Italy in Molise, etc.). 3. (CONTINUED): Representatives OF THE CIVIL SOCIETY will also be invited to participate in civil society (lawyers, accountants, freelancers, etc.) RESULTS The expected results of the conference are to stimulate the active participation of university institutions in the debate on the topics of the Conference on the Future of Europe. In particular, students from the University of Molise, local authorities and civil society will have the opportunity to reflect on the issues of the future of Europe and the importance that the Union plays nowadays in a region such as Molise. MODE OF ORGANISATION: In PRESENZA The conference is organised face-to-face, except in the case of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also streamed. Registration OF MEETING AND AVAILABILITY IN STREAMING The conference will still be recorded and made available in streaming.
