Meet us in Venice
It is the first of a series of meetings promoted by the Department for European Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers that will cross the peninsula from North to South to stimulate citizenship to participate in the Conference on the Future of Europe in relation to the specificities and solicitations of the territory. In Venice the themes addressed are 'European Union in the World' and 'Climate Change and Environment', in collaboration with the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and Europe Direct of the Municipality of VeniceAbout: www.politicheeuropee.gov.it/it/comunicazione/progetti-e-campagne/incontriamoci-a/incontriamoci-a-tappe/incontriamoci-a-venezia/

Event report
Development of enhanced cooperation in order to overcome unanimity in foreign policy The need for greater cooperation and rapid reaction and greater clarity in the European position for specific cases (Regeni case) Greater coordination in health policy, with an increasing transfer of competences from national level at European level (coordinated emergency management, covid case) The consumer calls for a wider choice of sustainable products, also accessible by large retailers, while respecting public hygiene (example of bulk products) Request for a greater comparison between states in the search for best practices to be exported to other states. to allow consumption with reduced environmental impact, in full compliance with health standards Extension and greater promotion of the citizen program that allows free comparison between citizens and exchanges at a non-European level Greater competitiveness of products with sustainable characteristics (or defiscalisation of sustainable products, or taxation of the most polluting products) Creation of geographical macro-areas of local public transport, integrated within a single pass, with possible facilitation for students. At the extreme the proposal can lead to the creation of a common area as large as the whole of the European Union (extension of the erasmus project) Open a debate already from high schools about the common European defence To bring the debate at European level about civil rights as a competence of the Union (e.g. marriages between homosexual couples) A political representation of non-human entities to protect their rights (e.g. glaciers and rivers) by experts who monitor and make their interests. Increased communication between science and the population, to increase awareness of the latter on environmental and sustainability issues. Inserte shared educational programmes at European level in schools.Share:
