On the final day of the Conference on the Future of Europe, The Hague LINKS Europe organizes a final event.

11:00 -14:00 – ‘Stichting Europa’: The role of the non-profit sector in pursuit of a Global Europe' – a conversation with the leaders and decision-makers of various think-tanks, NGO's and Civil Society organisations from across The Hague. It addresses how the non-profit sector is contributing towards the EU’s global ambitions, and how the EU can better galvanise the sector’s wealth of skills and knowledge; how it can involve and empower non-profits to work towards common global goals; and the risks and benefits in doing so. During the discussion participants are also invited to offer practical ideas on how The Hague’s rich civil society eco-system can contribute to this process in the future.

14:30-15:30 – 'Diaspora Communities and the future of Europe in the world' – a roundtable with the leaders and representatives of The Hague's major diaspora groups to explore how the EU can better engage with its diaspora communities when considering the future of the bloc on the world stage, and whether there is a role for local and municipal authorities in helping empower diaspora communities to fine-tune their contributions to the wider European debates – especially on foreign, defence and security policy.

16:00-18:00 – The closing event in the series 'The Hague Conversations on the Future of Europe in the World'. This includes presentations from Jan van Zanen, the Mayor of The Hague; Ambassador Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities; and Ivo Belet, Deputy Head of Cabinet to European Commission Vice-President Dubravka Šuica (TBC). After, LINKS Europe presents an advanced draft of the paper 'The Hague in Europe, Europe in the World', which aims to capture the mood, ideas and vision that emerged in the process of this dialogue exercise that began in the city last September 18, from which you find the reports written above.
