EU foreign policy agenda: what is the role of the EU in the world?
The EU has started a debate on the Europe of the future. The EU’s foreign policy agenda is of enormous importance to Europe and Denmark. How will the EU position itself in the future when we look at its role in the world? The European Movement has invited Karsten hens (SF) and Kim Aas Christensen (S) to debate the EU’s role in the world. There will subsequently be a debate on the subject, which aims to formulate proposals for the EU Conference on the Future of Europe’. The event is part of “Denmark is debating the future of Europe”, which is supported by Europe-Name and is a collaboration between the Europa-Nomen, DEO, the European Movement, New Europe and the People’s Movement against the EU in cooperation with local partners.

Event report
The presentation and the subsequent debate took place at the Kold Technical Gymnasium in Odense, where 90 students participated. The event was launched with a brief presentation by the European Movement, in which a public vote was held on which political topics they consider most important. There was then a presentation with Karsten hens, who is, among other things, foreign affairs rapporteur and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the European Affairs Committee and the SF. The paper was about European foreign policy, the institutions Denmark is a member of which also works with foreign policy such as FM and NATO, and then it was about some of the countries with which foreign policy tensions are presently on the EU side such as China and Russia. Some of the situations being discussed at the moment were also discussed, such as the Winter Olympics in China, the World Cup in Qatar and the internal divisions seen in the United States. Then, through the medium Mentimeter, ideas, questions and thoughts were gathered from the audience. The focus was split, and there were answers to questions from everything between tattoos to the defense reservation for Brexit. All this mouthed out ideas which are uploaded below.Related Ideas
