EU foreign policy agenda: what is the role of the EU in the world?
The EU has started a debate on the Europe of the future. The EU’s foreign policy agenda is of enormous importance to Europe and Denmark. How will the EU position itself in the future when we look at its role in the world? The European Movement has invited Kim Aas Christensen (S) to debate the EU’s role in the world. There will subsequently be a debate on the subject, which aims to formulate proposals for the EU Conference on the Future of Europe’. The event is part of “Denmark is debating the future of Europe”, which is supported by Europe-Name and is a collaboration between the Europa-Nomen, DEO, the European Movement, New Europe and the People’s Movement against the EU in cooperation with local partners.

Event report
The presentation and the subsequent debate took place at the Gymnastikhøjskolen in Ollerup, where 140 students participated. The event was launched with a brief presentation by the European Movement, in which a public vote was held on which political issues they consider most important. She then attended a presentation by Radikale Venstre Karen Melchior on how to work on foreign policy in the European Parliament, and talked about how foreign policy work can also influence the climate debate and the climate struggle, which young people care about. Then, through the media Mentimeter, ideas, questions and thoughts from the audience were gathered. The questions from the participants were wide and asked about everything from ink in tattoos to optimisation of public transport. One of the points raised by young people was that it was difficult for them to decide what Europe should do in the future for foreign policy when they knew nothing about the EU. This point was discussed a lot, as it was naturally a relevant question in relation to the general level of knowledge in schools and the level taught at the school and colleges. All this mouthed out ideas which are uploaded below.Related Ideas
