Event report
The meeting took place on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Sala Convitto of the Consortium Factory Grisù in Ferrara, with the dual mode of presence and live online on Facebook on the CDS page. The meeting was promoted by the association CDS Cultura OdV, in partnership with the Ferrara section of the European Federalist Movement, and placed within the Conference on the Future of Europe, like the previous two events. Recall that the first one took place on 28 September and was inherent in EU cohesion policy for quality of life in the province of Ferrara; the second on 9 October on "The 2030 Agenda for Ferrara. Between land and water: projects and experiences of regeneration of the territory" as part of the presentation of the Annual Socio-Economic Ferrarese 2021 In the event of 28 October were presented the Acts of the project on economic violence against women, held from November 2020 to February 2021 as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, organised in partnership with the Centro Antiviolenza Donna Giustizia with the collaboration of UDI, CGIL, CISL and UIL and with the patronage of ASviS, Municipality and Province of Ferrara and Emilia-Romagna Region. The meeting, after an introductory report to illustrate the project as a whole, updated the topic from a European perspective and of the NRP, an important opportunity to reflect on gender policies and their repercussions at local level. Number AND TYPE OF PRESENT PARTICIPANTS (GENERAL or SPECIFIC PUBLIC, WITH DETAILS SESIBLE)| The initiative took place both in presence, with about thirty participants, and online. The video with the recording of the event is still available on the Facebook page of the CDS, which has so far recorded over 180 views. If AVAILABLE, Demographic INFORMATION ON PARTICIPANTS| Most people present were women and predominantly over 50 years of age. Main IDEAS SUBJECT TO THE PARTICIPANTS DURING THE EVENT, DISCORS AND ARGOMENTS SHARE OR DETAILS THAT HOW TO THAT IDEAS| The entire event as already noted is still available on the Cds Facebook page; also on the association’s website you can find summaries of the different interventions and slides of some of these. The CDS dedicates several articles to the Conference, which can be found on its website. The GENERAL ATMOSFERA AND THE FOLLOW-UP ATTESO| The initiative was closely followed by the participants and detailed it was given both on the CDS website (www.cdscultura.com) and on the above mentioned Facebook page of the association, where the registration of the entire event is still available. In order for the expected recovery not to be unprepared for the institutions and the social and productive forces, it has been highlighted the need for projects for socio-economic development readily feasible with which to meet the old and new needs of the provincial territory, starting from a greater participation in the labour market, support for female entrepreneurship, certification of gender equality, a wide proposal for the implementation of services for the better reconciliation of life/work. The meeting attended Antonia Carparelli, Professor of European Policies at LUMSA Rome — former economist at the European Commission, who focused on the European Strategy 2020-2025 and the various criticalities, including the contradiction between very advanced laws and the weakness of their application, the existence of a national strategy that should be accompanied by regional strategies, the need to understand gender equality as part of the need for modernisation that Italy has. Ms Rosanna Oliva de Conciliis, President of the Network for Equality –Referent of ASviS for Goal 5, was intervened online, followed by the interventions in the presence of Daniele Lugli, European Federalist and Friend of Nonviolence and Alessandro Daraio, Emilia-Romagna Region, European Policy Coordination Service, programming, institutional reorganisation and territorial development, participation, cooperation and evaluation. The initiative was presented by Cinzia Bracci, President of CDS; Guglielmo Bernabei concluded Professor of Public Law Institutions at UNIFE and member of CDS and MFE, who emphasised the issue of inequalities, the need to abolish the right of veto for individual states and the need for a true single European budget. He coordinated the initiative Annalisa Ferrari of the CDS Directive. The PROPOSTS THAT PARTICIPANTS HAVE ACCEPTED TO PRESENT| The difficulty of translating laws into concrete actions, the existence of often unsanctioned regulatory instruments and the criticalities that have been added as a result of the pandemic were at the heart of the discussion. In the conclusions, there was a need to support the proposals of the European Federalist Movement, in particular as has already been pointed out in relation to the abolition of the right of veto for the States and the one that proposes a true single federal budget. The basic concept is that gender equality is also not fully punishable by being confined within individual Member States. A structural change is needed, both in regulations and in policy actions in the Union, because only a united, strong and federal Europe can truly defend and expand women’s rights, which are rights for all and for all.Related Ideas
