The Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Office of the European Parliament in the Czech Republic, will inaugurate the Conference on the Future of Europe in the Czech Republic on the premises of the Hrzánski Palace in Prague on 3 June 2021 from 16:00 to 18:00. The event will be watched online at https://ec.europa.eu/czech-republic/news/COFE2021_cs as well as on the organisers’ Facebook pages. It will be a moderate discussion of eminent personalities and civil society representatives. Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission, Dita Charanzová and Marcel Kolaja, Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament, Milena Hrdinková, State Secretary for European Affairs, Mikuláš Bek, Chairman of the EU Affairs Committee of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Radek Špicar, Vice-President of the Union of Industry and Transport, Vlado Bartovic, Director of the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, Ondřej Hopice, Souupkova, Janouk, journalist The moderator will be Jolana Voldánová. All personalities will answer 10 questions about the future of Europe and the role of the Czech Republic in the European Union. Questions will be formulated in advance by the College of 100 representatively selected Czech citizens, divided into 10 groups. The opening event will be followed by regional debates organised by Eurocenter and Europe Direct in all regional cities. The first three debates will take place online on Eurocenter Facebook profiles: 7. 6 in Plzeň, 15. 6. in Pardubice and 17. 6. in Ostrava. Others will follow the summer break.
