Extraordinary meeting of the Italian Platform on the Future of Europe, promoted by the European Movement in autumn 2019 and attended by more than 120 stakeholders. The meeting will be divided into 5 thematic sessions: (1) the priorities for the future of Europe (2) the modalities for civil society involvement (3) the rules for the democratic functioning of the online platform set up by the European institutions (4) the role of Italy in the debate on the future of Europe (5) the fate of the proposals made by the Conference with a view to reforming the European Union: communication policy and differentiated integration

Event report
The meeting took place in Rome on 30 April 2021 divided into four sessions: (1) priorities for the future of Europe; (2) arrangements for the participation of civil society (3) role of Italy in the debate; (4) Perspective of the reform of the European Union. The meeting was attended by 220 members and 45 speeches. Among others, the secretariats Amendola and Della Vedova, the secretary-general of the ESC Visentini, the President of the Foreign Committee of the Fassino Chamber, the President of the IAI Nelli Feroci, the secretary-general of MFE Trumellini, Prof. Alemanno and Antonetti, Judge of the European Court of Justice Serena Rossi, Secretary General of GFE Argenziano, Senator Emma Bonino, European ambassadors of the European Parliament, ambassadors of the European Court of Justice Serena Rossi, the secretary-general of GFE Argenziano, Senator Emma Bonini, the European Parliament’s ambassador, Ms Mogelosi and the ambassadors of the European Court of Justice, Serena Rossi, GFE Argenziano, Senator Emma Bonini, the European ambassador, Ms Mogelosi and Mr Egelosi Most participants shared the need to fully involve European citizens and associations. Some doubts have arisen about the arrangements for participation envisaged by the European institutions. A large proportion of the interveners supported the extension of the Union’s competences and, consequently, the reform of the Treaties.
