DENMARK
General information / approach:
The Danish vision is a broad and inclusive national debate where civil society and other non-governmental actors play a central role. The Danish government and parliament are working together to create a conducive framework around the national debate.
To facilitate and encourage an inclusive debate, a designated pool of public funds has been launched under the Danish Board for the Advancement of Debate and Enlightenment Regarding Europe (Europa-Nævnet) to support debates and initiatives hosted by non-governmental actors during the Conference. A total of EUR 591,700 (DKK 4,400,000) has been granted to a diverse group of actors, including NGOs, media, youth organisations, cultural institutions, think tanks and research institutes. These actors are hosting more than 180 debates across Denmark. Approximately half of the debates are specifically targeted towards young people.
In addition to the above, the government and parliament are organising a series of official events, such as citizen consultations and more traditional panel debates.
