Hi Dear Brothers i wish Can understand how to inside This wonderfull international organisation like so much bé part of you
Conversation
I fully agree.
The Conference is a nice idea. However it has developed into a wish list.
It's like asking people if they wish to live in peace, or have good pension etc.
It could be much more valuable if it concentrated on some challenges of the next 10 years. Such as population development, Energy, CO2, mass immigration, crime, common english language. etc.
Hi,
how can I apply for participating to this panel ?
thank you
Whatever you wish to discuss about the future of the EU is almost pointless if you do not apply a reality check. The overriding development is the exploding population in the countries surrounding the EU. The EU population is shrinking.
Just Africa will grow from 1,5 to 2,5 in 35 years. The EU will be stable at 0,5 billion.
While Africa is poor, uneducated and faced by crime; the EU is prosperous, educated and relative safe.
The EU was developed over several centuries, by hardworking people, discipline and ingenuity.
People from Africa and Asia are trying to migrate to the EU on a massive scale.
You cannot blame them. But they will become at the expensive of the EU members.
They will erode the collective funds for education, health, unemployment, pensions.
If the EU intends to survive it has to stop the mass immigration.
European compassion prevents them from taking adequate measures.
As long as that is the situation the Confurence on the Future will only be a dance on the Titanic.
For people who like to check facts. I recommend The UN World Population Prospects 2019 - Data Booklet.
The population explosion is concentrated in Sub-Saharan Africa and East of the Mediterranean. In 35 years the population will increase there to 2,0 and 2,5 billion.
That they grow so rapidly is caused by their young population.
Africa is the fastest growing continent. In 2015 they had 226 million youth aged between 15-24. It is still growing ( Un Population Facts, May 2015 )
What is the point of these sham "citizen panels"?
People selected by obscure and non-transparent processes are in no way representative of the EU's populations, nor its democracies, no matter how you call them!
The EU Parliament has more than 700 elected MEPs. The MEPs are the ones actually representing the citizens and it is the MEPs' job to come up with initiatives the electorate care about.
By contrast, a "citizen panel" made by clueless non-experts who rely mostly on their wishful thinking is, at best, a parody of democracy.
When obscure bureaucrats, who are not even democratically elected, put on the show of drafting "demands" for the EU Parliament, and pretend to select a "panel" of citizens who just happen to agree with items on the list of demands the bureaucrats are after, it surely looks like undermining the democratic processes and institutions.
De deelnemers werken actief mee aan inspraak. Verantwoordelijkheid nemen in overleg verdient respect.
Dear colleagues, Your agenda says that the event on Sunday 13 February is webstreamed. But where is the weblink to watch it? No information is available anywhere on this.
We chose the topic Eu in the world because we think that is very important that we as people who
live in an safe environment with good possibilities should not only look at our situation and only
try to improve our lifestyle, but also help the people that most need it. We think we should not
only improve as the Eu but the whole world should work together to make it a better world.
For us this topic is important and problematic because if people in developing countries will have
the access to clean water, there will be improvement in many sectors. The first obvious one would
be more people could be saved from thirst and therefore also death. The second problem that
could be solved includes the sanitary system, because when people have clean water to drink and
to use for a safe hygiene the rate of disease would decrease in a large amount and a lot less viruses
would be spread. This leads that less epidermic outbreaks would happen in the future.
The EU is trying to help in different ways to provide water in developing countries. In fact the EU is
one of the most important humanitarian donors of WASH, which is an association which helps
people around the world to have sufficient and safe water services. Other relevant things that they
have done until now are that they take care of diseases that are caused from the drinking and
making use of the dirty water.
Italy is already offering its contributions to help developing countries by building machines, that
purify water, and wells. This water is only accessible to a small number of people because many
live far away from any sources of potable water. To be a step closer to solve this problem our idea
was to construct more water purification machines and create more spots where water is
accessible to many more people. With this most of the population wouldn’t need to walk
kilometers to get their everyday needs. There are different methods to purify water; one would be
the rainwater harvesting but this can only be used in certain parts of the world, because not
everywhere it is raining enough to fill it up. [...]
[...] So in this case there are other ways like the recycling of
greywater, where the leftover water from baths, laundry and cooking are filtered and reused.
Countries which are near the sea can turn saltwater into potable water through process of
desalination. The technology should go hand in hand with the policy because the EU should invest
more money to help them make research on new and better methods to purify water. The
collaboration those two sides is very important for a safer and better future for the people in
poorer countries and also ourselves.
